12/3/20 Update- BURN BAN LIFTED
Brazoria County – Commissioners Court voted on November 24, 2020 to implement a 90-day county burn ban due to dry conditions in areas of the county. The ban will go into effect, November 25th. The Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) for Brazoria County on November 24 is 611 (countywide average) and continues to rise due to the lack of substantial rainfall. Once the KBDI reaches within the 600-800 range, drought conditions are considered severe with an increasing concern for wildfires.
The burn ban prohibits outdoor burning . Violations of the burn ban order include: burning any combustible material outside of an enclosure, serving to contain all flames and/or sparks, or order such burning by others. Contained BBQ pits and grills are permitted, but open flame pits are not permitted. Any violation of this Order is a Class C Misdemeanor, punishable by a fine.
If weather conditions improve for safe outdoor burning before the 90-days, with a KBDI number below 450 for five consecutive days, County Judge Matt Sebesta may authorize the burn ban lifted.
Please refer to the Brazoria County website for updates concerning the burn ban at http://www.brazoriacountytx.gov

We have some information regarding the Brazosport water authority, also known as BWA, water issue. The village of Jones creek residents on Trent water are not serviced by BWA. All other residents are on private water wells.
Our residents are not affected by this water issue. If you have family in the Freeport, Clute, Lake Jackson or other areas services by BWA please contact them to make sure they are aware of the situation.
If you have any further questions please text Marshal Tidwell at 979-292-6393.

This is an important message regarding Tropical Storm Beta. It is predicted that we could have several inches of rain over the next few days. As of right now we are not experiencing issues with flooding or water. With this storm there are strong winds, this can cause trees to fall and power lines to be damaged. If you see a tree or power line down please call 911 so emergency crews can come take care of the situation. Do not approach down power lines, stay several feet away, and again call 911. Please help emergency crews by staying in a safe place and off the roadways. Also, remember to turn around and not drowned. The best course of action right now is to stay home, please do not get out and drive around. Please continue to monitor your local weather stations and stay safe. As always if you have any questions or concerns please text Marshal William Tidwell at 9792926393. Thank you and God bless.

We would like to highly encourage our residents to check your local weather stations regularly to monitor the predication of Tropical Storm Beta. There is a high probability of impacts to our area and potential for heavy rain and flash flooding. This tropical system is predicted to move slowly along the coast and is projected to have gusty winds associated.
Please do not place heavy debris out for curbside pickup and secure items around your yards and home that have potential to fly away. We will provide updates via telephone as necessary and post updates regularly on our facebook page and website. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to send Marshal William Tidwell a text at 9792926393.
