Courtroom Rules

Please be advised that anyone entering the courtroom or anyone who wishes to speak with the judge must be appropriately dressed.

The following clothing items are prohibited:

• Hats, caps, bandannas, or other headgear.
• Shorts Ripped or torn jeans.
• Swimwear, beachwear, or sleepwear.
• Flip flops.
• See-through top Tank tops/Tube Tops /Muscle Shirts.
• Clothing that exposes your midriff or underwear.
• Baggy pants that fall below your waist.
• Clothing that depicts or promotes violence, sex acts, illegal drug use, or profanity.
• Purses, backpacks, etc. are not allowed.

The following behaviors are prohibited:

• Obscene, profane, loud, lewd, or disorderly language or activities.
• Pager or cellular phone use.
• Eating and drinking.
• Use of tobacco products.
• Chewing gum.
• Do not enter with any knives or weapons.

Violators will be ordered to leave and their cases will be reset to a later date.

NOTICE

If you are unable to pay the fine and costs, there are alternatives to the full payment of any fine or costs owed and we will discuss this option with you at our court. Should you not appear at our court, you could be arrested for failure to appear. 

All Juveniles under 17 must appear in court with a Parent or Legal Guardian. Failure to appear in court may be punishable as a Class C Misdemeanor. Pursuant to the Texas Code of Criminal Precedure Art. 45.57 (H), a child and parent required to appear before the court have an obligation to provide the court in writing with the current address and residence of the child. All minors under 17 with an Alcohol Offense must appear in court with a Parent or Legal Guardian.
